Principal's Message

Dear Park View Families,

This year marks an exciting new chapter for Park View Elementary as many students return back to their home campus and we welcome so many new families into our school community. Our campus is growing, our Explorer family is expanding, and there is an incredible energy surrounding all of the positive changes happening at Park View.

I am truly honored and excited to spend another year serving as the proud principal of Park View Elementary. There is something very special about this school, our students, our staff, and our families that makes Park View feel like home. Every year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, celebrate successes, and create lasting memories together, and I know this year will be no exception.

Thank you for being part of the Park View community. We are excited for all that is ahead and cannot wait to see our students shine this year.

Proud to be an Explorer,

Sophie Durbin
Principal
Park View is a truly exceptional community, built on a strong foundation of growth, connection, and a shared commitment to student success. Each day, we strive to LEAD — Learn Together, Exceed Expectations, Accept Responsibility, and Demonstrate Respect — values that guide our work and shape our school culture.

I am incredibly excited and honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Park View Elementary. As a proud product of Mountain View School District, this role is especially meaningful to me. I began my journey as a student at Mountain View Elementary and Grace Yokley Middle School, back when our district had just one school. It has been amazing to watch it grow into the thriving community it is today, now serving students across five elementary schools and one junior high.

I started teaching in MVSD in 2003 and have had the privilege of serving at five of our six schools, teaching grades 2 through 8. In addition to my professional journey, I am a proud mom of two sons who also attended Mountain View schools, and I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband. MVSD is truly home to me in every sense.

I look forward to working alongside our students, staff, and families to ensure every child feels supported, inspired, and empowered to succeed.

Warmly,
Stacey Castro
